Keith Poe, Project Director
As Project Director for PRODUMER in Managua, Nicaragua, Keith is responsible the day to day operations of the project. Prior to joining MEDA, Keith was a graduate student at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Mr. Poe has nearly a decade of experience with a variety of Nicaraguan NGOs providing micro-credit and non-financial services to market women in Managua. He also served as the Job Creation Administrator for the Mennonite Central Committee in Bangladesh, supporting a network of fair-trade handicraft businesses in rural areas. Additionally, he has experience as the owner and operator of a private transportation service in Managua which was active in the early 1990’s and a pineapple farm on the outskirts on Managua in the late 1990’s. Keith holds a B.A. in History from Messiah College, Grantham, PA, an MBA from the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) in Managua, Nicaragua and a Masters in International Agriculture and Rural Development from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.

Roger Larios, Marketing Specialist
Roger Larios began working as Marketing Specialist with Produmer in 2006. Mr. Larios has over 8 years of marketing experience, working as a marketing consultant for the business co-operative CLUSA. He has worked with various CLUSA projects focusing on the improvement of small farming associations in Nicaragua. As Marketing Specialist for PRODUMER, Mr. Larios is responsible for the collection, evaluation and dissemination of marketing information related to the sesame seed industry. Mr. Larios’s work with both exporters and producers has been vital in creating an efficient and transparent relationship between the two parties. Mr. Larios studied environmental engineering at the University of Nicaragua (UNA).

Gusnara Bustos, Gender Specialist
Gusnara Bustos joined the Produmer project in 2004. Before Produmer, Ms Bustos worked as an administrative assistant on a previous MEDA directed project. Mrs. Bustos works with all project personnel in developing training methods related to gender issues. The purpose of this training is to transform the attitudes of men and women to allow for greater equality for women. She received a Bachelor’s from the Universidad Autónoma de Nicaragua (UNAN) and is currently working on her masters in Gender Studies.

Marcio de Trinidad Perez Sirias, Field Operations Manager
Marcio de Trinidad Perez Sirias joined the PRODUMER project in 2002 as Field Operations Manager. Mr. Sirias is responsible for the technological developments for PRODUMER. He investigates new technologies, manages field reports, and recommends new production techniques. Mr. Sirias has worked for several years in the agriculture industry, involved in the promotion and creation of certified seed. Mr. Sirias received his masters of agricultural science while studying in Uzbekistan and speaks Russian, English and Spanish.

Miguel Angel Medrano Cuadra, Monitoring Specialist
As Monitoring Specialist, Mr. Cuadra is responsible for evaluating the data collected by the PRODUMER technicians and implementing new methods to improve the functioning of the project. Mr. Cuadra has over half a decade of experience working as a technical advisor for the educational co-ordinator of USAID in Nicaragua. Mr. Cuadra studied computer engineering at the Universidad de Ingenieria in Managua, Nicaragua.
